What cable ties should be used on a project? Often, the specifications address only the color of the tie and the spacing between ties. So, as CQA professionals, how do we know if a given cable tie meets the project specs? As an owner, how do you know that the ties being used are adequate for your project needs?
In this video, I test the tensile strength of some cable ties to see how they perform under stress. As you will see, I have some concerns about the types of ties we’re using and also how we’re using them. As an industry, we need to be taking a hard look at the usage of cable ties across all containment projects.
